Memory Verse 2017 -- Week 33

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Jesus answered,
"I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me."
John 14:6

This is one of the reasons Christians are viewed as haters or as narrow-minded or as intolerant. The reality is that the Bible makes it very clear that someone who worships Buddha or Mohammad or anything else but Jesus will not go to heaven when they die. Should that make Christians feel privileged or blessed or relaxed? No. It should set a fire under us to reach out to our friends and neighbors and coworkers and family to bring them to Christ before it's too late.

Spend the week focusing on this scripture:
  • Read the verse in your Bible.
  • Read the passage before and after it.
  • Write it in your journal.
  • Ask the Lord to show you how it applies to your life.
  • Put it on a piece of paper and post it in a prominent place in your home so that you can see it often.
  • Put the words to music. Make up a tune or use one you already know. Singing always helps in the memory process. It's a left brain / right brain thing.
  • Always memorize the scripture reference with the verse so you can remember where to find it in the Bible.
