My Alpha came home last week with her arms full of boxes. Empty boxes. I found that to be somewhat amusing. My mouser thought it was pretty fun — he climbed inside of one and went to sleep.

I noticed things starting to disappear around here. Then I realized what was going on. My Alpha was taking things out of drawers and closets and putting them in these crazy boxes. She’s been carrying around a big black marker in her back pocket -- she takes it out every once in awhile and scribbles something on a box. Now she is stacking them here and there — totally in the way. I just don’t get it. Seems like all that stuff was better off where it came from instead of in a box in the middle of the floor.

Are we giving this stuff away?
Are we putting it all in storage somewhere?
Are we moving?

I did that once in my previous home. It was mass chaos. My smoothskins loaded up everything that wasn't nailed down in our perfectly good house and took it to another one. It took me forever to get used to the new surroundings and smells and critters, etc. I didn't much care for it. But I didn't really have much to say about it. They just loaded me up with all their stuff and we all ended up at the new place.

Hopefully there’s some other perfectly good explanation for what's happening because I like it here. I like the yard and the shade and the groundhogs and the squirrels. Most of all I like sitting on the front steps with my Alpha’s arm around me watching the world go by. This is home.
