In summer camp when I was a girl, I learned an acronym for joy:

Jesus 
Others 
You

I learned that if I put Jesus first in my life and then looked out for others before I thought about myself, I would find joy.

When you get caught up in the turmoil of the day, make yourself concentrate on the Lord — not on what He has done but who He is. Focus on His awesomeness. 

And when you see other people throughout your day, smile at them — whether you feel like it or not. Do something nice for someone— open a door for them — allow them to go in front of you in line — buy their lunch or their groceries. 

Little by little that ray of joy-shine will cut through the gloom and brighten your day.
