Romans 10:9-10

Friday, June 16, 2017  ‬‬
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
So now that you know the back story related to our sin and to Jesus' paying the consequences for it, here's how to become a Christian.
  1. Believe that he arose from the dead.
  2. Tell somebody that Jesus is Lord of your life.
That's it?
Yep.

I don't have to, like, DO anything?
That's right.

That's too easy!
Is it?

God's plan is perfect. All he wants from us is, well, US. He isn't interested is fancy words, elaborate rituals, or acts of contrition. He just wants US.

For some, the simplicity of becoming a Christian is a stumbling block. It seems too good to be true -- there must be a catch.

The reality is that this method of salvation is appropriate for the youngest child, the sickest individual, the least literate as well as for the most educated, the most fortunate, etc. And this is because God wants EVERYbody to come to him -- He doesn't want ANYone to miss out on heaven.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 NASB
Lord, thank you that salvation is free and not something I have to earn. Since it is your desire that all come to know you, help me be more diligent is sharing the Roman Road.
