A Night of Agape
First Baptist Church of Somerset has a dinner for middle school and high school girls that is pretty cool.
The girls get dressed up a bit and come to the fellowship hall. A young man, also nicely dressed, escorts each girl to her assigned table and later serves as a waiter when the food comes out.
Chloe was tonight’s guest speaker. She talked to the girls about being well-grounded in their faith and about agape love.
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

I served on a panel of six women and we answered questions that the girls had written down for us. Some were a little silly and some were very serious. We addressed questions regarding foreign languages, peer pressure, anxiety, sin, personal relationships with Jesus, healthy relationships with boys, etc
There was laughter. There were a few tears. The panel’s answers were playful, honest, sincere, and Christ-centered.
LORD, thank you for allowing me to be a part of this incredible night. I pray that all of these young ladies will draw closer to you as a result of it.
