As we mature in our faith, we should strive to please the Lord and to do His will. Yesterday we saw that it is God’s will that all should have a personal relationship with Him and be with Him in heaven. Let’s see what today’s Scriptures tell us about His will.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.
I Peter 2:15
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.(1) It is God’s will for us to act justly. We are to be fair, impartial, balanced, and moral.
I Thessalonians 5:18
(2) He wants is to be merciful — especially when mercy is hard to find.
(3) He wants us to have a humble heart. After all, we are nothing without him.
(4) He wants to do good. Did you catch the biproduct of our doing good? We would silence a bunch of people who have no idea what they are talking about.
(5) His will is for us to worship Him through thanksgiving. He is, of course, the only one truly worthy of our praise and thankfulness.
I think it’s pretty cool that it is God’s will that we have these attributes and actions. He’s a pretty amazing God.
Lord, thank you for showing us all these things that are Your will for us. They seem pretty reasonable to me. Help us to comply.
