Here are some of the things new believers need to know about and learn how to do.
- Baptism
- Daily Quiet Times
- Bible Study
- Memorization of Scripture
- Scripture Meditation
- CorporateWorship
- Fellowship with other believers
- Sharing their faith with others
What is the difference?
Quiet times, in my book, are designed to be 15-20 minutes long and can focus on various aspects of Christian life. They are little nuggets of information that we ingest in the morning and then reflect on all day.
Bible Study is more involved, taking 30-60 minutes at a time. For the new believer, Bible Study could be roughly twice a week.
It is very important for the new believer to get into a routine of regular quiet times and Bible studies. One good way to keep track of these is to write daily entries in a spiritual journal. It can be beneficial to look back every so often in order to reflect on where we've been.
Lord, since it is important for the new believer to be in the word, it only stands to reason that more mature believers should model that process. Give us the desire to spend this time alone with you.
