Be Prepared for 2017: Stand Firm
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13
In the next few days we'll look at the armor God has for us. Why are we to put this armor on? So that we can stand our ground against evil.
Did you see the little four-letter word in this passage that tells us about the likelihood of trouble coming? When. It doesn't say "if" the day of evil comes. It says "when" it comes. It is going to happen.
And what will "the day of evil" be? What do you think? Is this referring to the "end times?" Or could it be something a little more heee and now?
Maybe both.
The end times are coming. We don't really know when. So we should be prepared now to stand firm.
But Satan is a crafty old thing. He wants to drive a wedge between us and our Lord at all cost. And he tries EVERY DAY to defeat us.
He tries to convince us that we are useless garbage.
He tries to make us doubt our security with God.
He tries to make us miserable.
He tries to ruin our relationships with others.
He's just a good-for-nothing weasel! Really!
So if we do as God directs and put on His armor, we can be assured that we will be prepared for the daily onslaught that Satan brings.
Lord, help us recognize Satan's sneaky attacks. And help us to depend totally on you to provide the victory over him.
