Great is Thy Faithfulness
Thomas O Chisholm 1923
Lamentations
3:22-23
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
“Great
is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning
by morning new mercies I see;
All
I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great
is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Lord, you are my strength for
today and bright hope for tomorrow!
Thank you!

ReplyDelete"The joy of a hymn like this, hidden in the depths of one's heart, is that it holds life's memories. I can remember seasons that one phrase, or another, offered me hope- provided me hope- demanded of me the acceptance of needed hope- wrapped me in hope. As I sat in my recliner and sang it, once again, to myself, I remembered just how our good, good Father has given us the greatest hope the world has ever been given- His precious Son, Jesus."
