Last night was Eighth Grade Night at Farristown Middle School. Where did the season go? Bill and I have enjoyed going to the games for several reasons:
- The weather has been exceptional this fall.
- We love football.
- Bill got to announce the games and I got to help. (That means being in the press box all the time -- with all the yellow jackets.)
- We got to watch our son, Patrick, coach. This was by far the biggest reason we were there.
Bill does such a good job announcing the game. He knows so much about the rules that he effortlessly interprets what's going on. The fans seem to really appreciate his style. I remember sitting in the stands when Patrick played in high school and enjoying hearing his name called out on the loud speaker. It's a pretty proud feeling. I'm glad these middle school families get to experience it.
Last night's games were against the Madison Middle School Panthers, Lizzie's Alma Mater. FaceBook gave me a 7 year time hop this week of Lizzie and the MMS cheer squad doing a stunt routine. They were pretty cute with those ponytails and white bows the size of Wisconsin. Nothing has changed -- the FTMS cheer squad was sporting stately bows last night as well.
We had a nice surprise at the game last night. Patrick and Klecenda go to Bible Study at the Newman's on Monday nights and the couples from their group came to the game to watch Patrick coach. That was so sweet.
I can't believe all the home games are over. It sure was a lot of fun.
