What are we afraid of?

• illness
• death
• loss of loved one
• loss of employment
• not having enough money
• getting old 
• getting caught doing something we shouldn't 
• disappointing others
• failing

Some of us have apprehensions about some very understandable things:

• snakes 
• rats
• bugs
• storms
• heights
• clowns

I found some acronyms for fear:

• False Evidence Appearing Real
• Forget Everything and Run
• Face Everything and Rise

What do you think God's perspective would be regarding fear? 

Yesterday I posted the memory verse for this week: 2 Timothy 1:7.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV

Somewhere I read that it is stated 365 times in the Bible that we are not to fear. This verse is just one example. 

So if God has not given us the spirit of fear, then who does? 

Instead of fear, what are we supposed to have?

• power
• love
• soundness of mind

Let's think about this a little this week. 

Lord, show us how to be victorious over fear.
