I Am Your Temple Filled with Love
Feb 8, 2017
“Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.”
Psalm 48:9 NIV
If our bodies are, indeed, temples of the Holy Spirit as1 Corinthians 3:16 claims, then Psalm 48:9 should also be true.
This verse suggests that within our very core, we should spend time set apart for uninterrupted concentration on the love of God. Meditation is not a fleeting or haphazard thought. It is focused. It is dedicated. It is private.
So how would you describe love?
Well, God IS love.
Love is perfect affection.
Jesus showed His love for us in that before we could confess our sins to Him, He died for us. Now that's love. We definitely didn't deserve what he paid for us.
And if we meditate on it, we should discover more and more love. So far we have just scratched the surface.
The more we meditate on His love, the more His love should seep out of our pores and onto the hurting world around us.
Meditation is good. Spreading His love is better.
Lord, thank you for your unconditional love. Help us to explore it, to take it all in, and to freely pass it on to others.
