Shout for joy to the LORD,
all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people,
the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good
and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues
through all generations.
Psalm 100
My Bible Study class has been looking at Leviticus for the past few weeks. We’ve read about God giving Moses the directions for building the tabernacle. He was very specific. Nobody went into the holy of holies on his own initiative — unless he had a death wish.
Many aspects of the tabernacle pointed to Jesus Christ and the atonement He would bring upon His crucifixion. One of the very important benefits we have as believers is that we can now go into God’s presence at any time without fear.
And if you think about it, as Christians we are constantly in God’s presence because His home is in our hearts. How cool is that? We can talk to Him 24/7 one-on-one and we’ll have His undivided attention. All because of Jesus.
So. . .
Read the 100th Psalm once more with Jesus’ sacrifice in mind. It’s pretty awesome.
Lord, we come before you with humble hearts as we reflect on our sinful condition. Thank you for our release from bondage through your precious son. We rejoice in your presence and praise Your Name. You are our Creator. You are God and we are your people.
